Them: "Art Isn't Important."

Has anyone ever tried to convince you that art is a waste of time?

At the end of the day, an opinion is just an opinion. However, when the situation arises, it's important to at least have something to say so we're not standing there flabbergasted...like me. I'm usually a loss for words! So this last week, I asked the artists in the "Majesticsock Cafe Discord Server", "Why do we feel the need to create?"

According to the server artists, art is a form of expression, a method of communication, and a tool for sharing our unique voices. And for many of us, we've had the desire to create since the beginning of time! There's an innate desire in us that makes us want to record our experiences, bring our fantasies to life, and express our thoughts through art. Lili, one of our server artists, put it so well, "Humans have always felt the need to express themselves through an outlet and art is something that no one can really take away."

"It comes from a desire to recreate the world around us in a way where we can preserve it for future generations...so we can have something to share with our chosen community, either to share our cultures or our own personal stories" -@AceofRabbits

The next time someone tells you art is worthless, share the usefulness and power of art! If they don't agree, that's alright. We can still be confident in our opinion (the only correct one 😉) because art is important to us.
