I REMOVED My Art Shop.

I've decided to separate my art shop from my "Majesticsock" brand.

This means, I'll be creating a whole NEW brand from scratch for my art shop! The reason behind this business move is because I want the purpose behind everything I do to be 100% clear.

Majesticsock exists to support artists as they learn/grow in their creative endeavors. My art shop is for those who find my art relatable and encouraging! Mixing the two just didn't make sense to me so I'm finally separating them.

First, I need to do some prep. I need a niche so I know where I can sell my art, a target audience so I know who I'm selling to, and a story so I know how I'm going to sell my art.

Here's what I came up with so far:

The Brand Name: SockArtStudio

Niche: Bullet Journaling

Target Audience: Women (Age 22-35), Ambitious, Busy, etc.

My Story: Although I'm often worried about the future/potential failure, because I'm incredibly ambitious, I'm not planning on giving up. I'm going to continue working on my dreams and want to encourage others do the same through my art!

Now the hard part...

Not only must I draw (which is a lot already LOL), I must think about my target audience and the story I want to convey. Remember, the story is what makes the product "uniquely" relatable and sellable to the intended audience.

The dilemma is that, as artists, we want to draw what we love and hope that it'll sell, not draw with the objective being to sell. Plus, creating art for a "niche" just sounds soul-sucking, inauthentic, and completely unnatural.

But I don't think it has to be that way.

I thought long and hard about what I love to draw (portraits & nature) and why (aka, my story). As an adult women with lot on her plate, nature is what brings me back to the present moment. So, really, the target audience and story, is actually me!

I just found a way to generalize my own needs and desires to work for a larger crowd.

Disclaimer: Definitely do your own research because I am no expert! Everything I've shared is something I've learned through online resources (that I personally trust) but since I'm not a professional, it'll be lots of trial and error through experience on my part.

Good luck to us!
