Building an Art Shop is HARD!

As a lot of you know, I started selling my art again. However, to be completely transparent with you, other than the 3 prints I sold to my friends, I madeĀ 0 sales. Yikes š . But you know what, I amĀ okay! There is still much to gain from your failures just as much as your successes. The biggest gain I've had from this successful failure is that, now, I can take a step back and address the issues. Something I couldn't do before because until I actually tried, these issues were a million "what ifs", cycling through my head.

Numerically, I failed. However, rather than feeling embarrassed or discouraged, I actually feel empowered to try harder. Instead of "what if it doesn't work", I'm now thinking, "because it didn't work, what can I change/try next"?
I've always had an inkling that selling physical products of my artwork won't work on my "Majesticsock" art account/website because that's not why you're here. You're here because you've found valueĀ in the free digital art resourcesĀ I've made (i.e. Notion Digital Art Study GuideĀ and PDF Anatomy Printables) and/or hearing about my struggles as an artistĀ that you were able to relate to. You aren't exactly here to buy my artwork and that's okay! Although my dream is to become a full time artist, I don't want to force this "new" side of me (selling my art) and would much rather focus on continuing to find ways to help you in your art journey.
Ā
But don't worry, I haven't given up on my dreams! Now that I've successfully failedĀ (hehe I really like this phrase), I'm going to pivot and try something new.

So far, I've helped some of you grow your art skills as I grew mine. My next goal is to learn how to build my art shop from square one on a new platform. I'm not sure how that'll look like yet but the idea is to grow an audience that is solely interested in my artwork, not in learning from me.
Ā
I was very (delusional-ly) confident that I could quickly learn art and help others learn with me, for whatever reason, building an art shop is so much more intimidating to me. But one thing about me is that I'm not afraidĀ to share my failures with you. So, whether I succeed or fail, I hope my journey of trying to become a successful artist inspires you to work towards your amazing dreams!
Good luck to us and here's to a new chapter! Cheers!
